One of the main activities of the Ministry of Education is providing opportunities for the Sri Lankans to follow Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in various fields in foreign countries. In selection of candidates, to have openness and transparency, as well as to select the best applicants, applications are called through an advertisement, which is published in the website of this Ministry and the News Papers. Qualified applicants are interviewed by a panel of experienced University Lecturers. Selected best applicants are nominated for the final selection which is done by the respective scholarship agency.
