Signing of the Partnership Agreement between the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT) & SLTC Research University .  

A discussion presided by Hon. (Dr.) Suren Raghavan, the Sate Minister of Higher Education was held at the Minister’s Office today, Wednesday 19th October 2022 with the participation of Prof. Sampath Amaratunge – Chairman, University Grants Commission, officials of the Center for Gender Equity and Equality of the University Grants Commission, and Mr. L.P.H.Waduge, Director (IT) of the Sate Ministry of Higher Education, and there a preliminary discussion was held regarding the updating of the currently implemented measures with regard to the control of ragging at state universities.  

A discussion on the projects that are being implemented at the Universities of Kelaniya, Wayamba, and Sabaragamuwa under foreign aid, which was presided over by the Hon. State Minister of Higher Education held today at the State Minister’s Office with the participation of relevant university officials responsible for managing those projects. A special emphasis was given to how those projects can be contributed to the advancement of higher education.  

Dr Suren Raghavan is appointed as the Hon State Minister of Higher Education from 12.09.2022
